A-1 Worldwide Travel will assit you in
securing group rates for special trips and for meeting fares. There is a
difference between group fares and meeting fares.
GROUP fares are negotiated on the
basis of a group of people travelling TOGETHER from one point to another.
Their return may have SLIGHT variations, but the orginal segments must be
travelled together.
MEETING FARES are negotiated when a
group of people need to meet at a DESTINATION and their points of origin
are different. For a valid meeting fare, however, EVERYONE in the group
must use the same carrier. The various carriers will not grant a special
meeting fare if the minimum number of travelers is not met. CAUTION: If
meeting fares are utilized and the number of passengers falls under the
minimum established in the contract, the carrier may deem the contract
conditions are not met and they may impose penalties which could include
increased fares for those persons already ticketed. Meeting fares should
only be utilized if you are sure that you will be able to meet the minimum
number of passengers required for the fare. Air carriers do have the option
of denying boarding to passengers holding meeting fare tickets that were
issued and the contract was deemed not met by the carrier.
