A-1 Worldwide Travel will coordinate your emergency travel needs for: Bereavement Imminent Death Most carriers have special fares available for emergency travel. These fares are for specific emergencies and are valid for certain levels of familial relationship. These requirements vary by carrier. RESTRICTIONS apply, and the special fares are available at a percentage of the full coach fare. Tickets must generally be purchased within a 4-7 day window of the required travel date(s). Most carriers will allow for an open ended return date as passengers frequently do not know how long they will need to be at the destination. VERIFICATION will be REQUIRED by the carrier. The verification varies by the type of fare and specific carrier. In order to initially process your request for consideration of your emergency travel needs, your A-1 Worldwide Travel agent will need to inform the carrier of the following: Passenger(s)’ name(s) Travel Dates you are requesting, City pairs - Your origination point and your destination, Name of the person on whose behalf you must travel, Relationship of that person to you. - Be specific. Name, address, and person to contact at the institution for verification by the hospital, mortuary, or hospice program they are being cared for by. DOCUMENTATION may be required in various forms. Your agent will advise you on the requirements of particular carriers which you decided to utilize. A-1 Worldwide Travel acknowledges this is a difficult time for travelers who need to travel under these conditions. We will work with you to make the process as smooth as possible.
